The Miami Heat and King James punish the Thunder 121-106 in Game 5 and take the title as 2012 NBA Champions! This win was huge, it gives Lebron his first ring, Wade his second and it showed the world that Mike Miller can still shoot! Mike Miller played a crucial role off the bench as he delivered 23 points shooting 7 for 8 from the three helping the Heat tie an NBA Finals record for total team three pointers with 14 team threes.

Lebron James delivered one of the greatest NBA Finals performances we’ve seen in a long time, maybe since Wade’s performance in ’06. He added a Triple Dub to his collection with 26 points 13 assists and 11 rebounds. Despite his early foul trouble, Wade was able to add to the margin with 20 points and 8 rebounds. And don’t forget Shane Battier who scored 11 points and becomes the first Duke player to win a NBA Championship (Coach K taught ‘em)!

Somewhere I can’t help but to think, Dan Gilbert (owner of the Cavaliers) is kicking himself for publicly stating Lebron James wouldn’t win a Championship before the Cleveland Cavaliers (lol). Not only did James win the ‘Ship, he won regular season MVP and took home the NBA Finals MVP as well.

As a Heat fan (since ’03) I can say they put in the hard work and truly deserved it. Repeat next season!

Congrats to the 2011-12 Miami Heat
