SoRaspy: Jeremy Lin Agrees to 4-Year, $28.8 Million Deal from Rockets
The infamous “Linsanity” swept through New York and led to immediate creation of Jeremy Lin jerseys and tons of other memorabilia? Well, that may soon be a thing of a past. Lin has verbally agreed to the offer sheet from the Houston Rockets worth $28.8 million over 4 years. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the deal is heavily back-loaded with Lin set to earn “$5M in year one, $5.2M in year two and $9.3M in years three and four.”
While, Jason Kidd, 39, turned down a deal with the Dallas Mavericks and agreed to spend the twilight years of his Hall of Fame career as a Knick.
Now, the Knicks will need to figure out whether or not they want to match the offer or let the 23-year-old point guard go to Houston. The Knicks would have three days to match the offer after Lin, a restricted free agent, signs it July 11. Knicks do state they do intend to keep Lin.
