#BrooklynWeGoHard- Lia Neal, the 17-year-old swimmer from the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, helped the United States claim bronze in the 4×100 freestyle relay Saturday night as she swam the third leg in 53.65 seconds.

The Australian team established an Olympic record in 3:33.15. The Netherlands closed fast for silver in 3.33.79. The Americans finished in 3:34.24.

“I was so ready to go as fast as I could,” said Neal, a rising senior at the Convent of the Sacred Heart on the Upper East side. She trains at Asphalt Green, a pool located nearby.

Neal is only the second African-American woman to make a U.S. Olympic swim team. She said she was flooded with support from home, but never felt overwhelmed by the stage.
