‘American Horror Story”s New Season Will Tackle Its Most Terrifying Subject Yet: the 2016 Election

American Horror Story has tackled lots of fictional subjects in the past, but now it’s poised to cover the most horrific true event that ever occurred in our nation’s history: the 2016 election. On Wednesday, series creator Ryan Murphy was a guest on the show, Watch What happens Live, when he dropped this bombshell on us.

He said, “I don’t have a title but the season when we begin shooting, it is going to be about the election that we just went through. So I think that will be interesting for a lot of people.” He didn’t elaborate much on the details of the impending season, but we expect to hear more soon as filming is set to commence in just a few months.

When the host of the show, Andy Cohen, inquired as to whether or not we’d actually get to see the cheeto on the show, he responded with a quick “maybe.” It’s not clear whether or not this new season will be set in the 21st century, but we imagine it will just based on the clues and hints we’ve been given thus far.

One thing we can confirm, however, is that the season will be starring American Horror Story mainstay, Sarah Paulson who will presumably be playing Hillary Clinton. However, that information has yet to be confirmed. Production on the impending season is set to commence in July of this year, and we can expect to see it air sometime in October.

We’ll keep you updated on any further developments as we receive them. In the meantime, I suggest you check out the first six seasons to get an idea of what to expect in season seven. Although, no matter how hard we try, I don’t think there’s anything in this world that can prepare us for the horror that is the 2016 election.
