Check out the collaboration between Hood By Air and Italian footwear label Forfex, which has resulted in two colorways of a classic boot shape, inspired by the six-inch Timberland construction boots. The familiar silhouette has been revamped and reimagined by HBA maestro Shayne Oliver. With a knack for pushing boundaries, reinventing classic shapes and offering strange aesthetics, Oliver has designed a boot that amalgamates familiar styles. The overall silhouette, as mentioned, is largely inspired by the classic Timberlands, but details herald images of other familiar sneakers. The heel strap and neoprene-like tongue reminds us of the Nike Air Huaraches, while the triangular collars are reminiscent of the Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan VII pop-up. HBA fan Kanye West also gets a nod, in the form of the forefoot strap inspired by the Nike Air Yeezy 2. In both a classic black and tan, you can now pre-order the Hood By Air x Forfex “Avalanche” boot at Barneys, retailing for $1,175 USD.
